Allegation of Theft in Mumbai Railway Yard

07-Apr-2025 (In Criminal Law)
Ten months ago, at a railway yard in Mumbai, an officer took my photo under allegations of theft and accused me of stealing. They asked me casual questions and checked my ID. I want to know if this will affect my CA career or not. So far, I have not received any call or message from the police—am I safe?"

If no FIR (First Information Report) was filed and you haven’t been contacted by the police or received any legal notice in the past ten months, it's unlikely to affect your CA career. However, if a formal case was registered, it could potentially impact your eligibility, especially during background checks. You're likely safe, but for peace of mind, you may consider checking with the local police station if any FIR was filed against your name.

Well, until and unless, FIR gets lodged against you, you don't have to worry. Incident which you have described about won't create any legal complications for you to pursue your Career in CA, if they don't decide to viral your Video on Social Media, accusing you of doing Theft/Stealing things in/from Railway Yard
