Affidavit against old gold bill

02-Feb-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I am small jeweller. Please tell me how to buy without bill old gold ( jewellery) legally? I used to take affidavit (100rs stamp) from seller/customer now a days. I have question that is it enough protection for me if some one sell me a old gold jewellery with affidavit ( affidavit as he is a sole owner of it & lost original bill ). I have a situation that police caught that person who sold me that gold. I have his affidavit. what should I do now?

Well, in that case, if you are taking an affidavit containing text ( That you will not be held responsible for purchasing the Gold from them if it is found to be stolen from someone )
from those which are selling Gold to you without giving you the proof of their ownership of gold, you are safe. However, despite that, if you get arrested, you can take a strong action against the Police in Court.
