A boy Harrassed and blackmailed by a girl. Need to know the solution..

A friend of mine is harassed by someone who is a girl. She is ex girlfriend of this boy. But its been 3-4 years of breakup because that girl did tortured to him. But she didn't stop she continuously harrassing him by no end. She is blackmailing him and my friend is going in depression. And i am scared that he can be commit suicide due to frustration. I want to know is there any solution against the girl in law so that he can freely live his life ?

Its better to know what type of blackmailing or harassment she is giving to him. If it is of grave nature better to lodge FIR against her in the illaqa thana under the relevant sections of IPC. If you still have any doubt better to call me for your assistance.
