If an amount has been transferred to the wrong person through UPI/Paytm by mistake, immediately raise a complaint through the payment app and your bank, preserving the transaction ID, screenshots, and payment details. You should also request the recipient to voluntarily return the amount. If the recipient refuses to return the money despite being informed of the mistaken transfer, you may lodge a complaint with the Cyber Crime Portal and the local police authorities. Retaining money that is known to have been received by mistake may give rise to legal consequences depending on the facts of the case. Legal Answer (Short): यदि Paytm/UPI के माध्यम से गलत खाते में पैसे ट्रांसफर हो गए हैं, तो ट्रांजैक्शन को सीधे रद्द नहीं किया जा सकता। प्रेषक को तुरंत Paytm, संबंधित बैंक और 1930 साइबर हेल्पलाइन पर शिकायत दर्ज करनी चाहिए। यदि प्राप्तकर्ता राशि वापस करने से इंकार करता है, तो पुलिस शिकायत, साइबर क्राइम शिकायत तथा आवश्यकतानुसार सिविल या आपराधिक कानूनी कार्यवाही की जा सकती है। बैंक जांच कर प्राप्तकर्ता से संपर्क कर सकता है, लेकिन उसकी सहमति के बिना राशि स्वतः वापस नहीं ले सकता।
