If u want to create your own brand than u have to register your brand name & logo under the trade marks act. The trade mark will protect the good will of your name and no one will be able to use your brand name and logo. The trade mark is valid for 10 years after it you have to renew it.

Secondly if u are creating a firm whether it is parternship or proprietorship , it will be good for u to register it before the registrar of parnerahip firm, so that u can create a legal entity. Instead of firm u can create a company also.
