I have been cheated through a car service centre

13-Sep-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Recently my car got damaged, the car was insured with zero dep policy. I gave my car to an authorised service centre of chevrolet for repair work. But the service done by them was terrible. They delivered the car without testing and during rains water started coming inside. The car suffered damages because of this. Also it came to my notice that service centre has changed my car remote and mats and now they are not accepting it. And now I have also been informed by my insurance company that the bill given by service centre has not been fully passed by them. They are telling me now that your service centre has added parts in the bill that were not okayed by the surveyor and hence they will not pay me for those parts. The service centre did not asked my permission for these. What action can I take against them? Can I sue them and if yes then for how much?

Yes, You are definitely a Consumer, as defined under the Section 2(d) of the Consumer Protection Act and can very well file a complaint for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice. There is no definite limit as to what amount you can seek as relief, however, you can very well seek compensation for the total loss caused to you and for mental agony also.
