How to get "non-refundable fees" refunded if not satisfied

07-Dec-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hi, I had enrolled for a certification course in  hospital, kolkata starting from July 2017. They made me 70% of the course fee at the starting only. Now the main problem is 1) there is rarely any academics going on in the Dept. 2) even though we were entitled to have on duty for 48 hours/ week. Now and then we are being forced to do 60hours / week. 3) even though I tried to contact the university , noone replied after repeated mails Is there any procedure by which I can get refund of this "non refundable fees" they have taken in advance . It's hardly 6 months and this course is useless and non MCI recognized. I was aware of the non recognized status , but the workload is crossing all sort of of humanity. Kindly help.

Sir,
What is the complete duration of your course?
when a student signs the admission form, he has no bargaining power to negotiate, or refuse to sign any particular clause in the admission form. Hence, these clauses should not be held against the student.
You can get refund of fees after deduction of class present, statutory and fees like Service Tax, etc.
You can file your case in Consumer Court.
Kind attached all documents and mail send by you to the University.
Kindly Remember:
Law is on the side of students who want to leave an institute or course mid-way and are seeking refund of fees. This also means, education institutes should not be charging upfront fees for the entire course and refuse refund, in case the student wants it.

It is difficult to find out your exact question. If you want refund and you think proper service was not provided to you. You can complain on your own or through an advocate in consumer forum. If the facts are correct you will get compensation too.

Sir/Ma'am,

You seem to have fallen trapped in a non professional racket. You have relief under consumer protection, as well as other avenues of law where not only a refund but also some compensation is available for the trauma you have undergone. Contact us for help.
