Faulty product (oil cooler failure)

13-Feb-2026 (In Consumer Court Law)
My nexon car broke down in the middle due to oil cooler failure. though the car is 5 years old, it's driven only for 47000. Oil cooler should not fail for such short driven car, this is mainly because oil cooler is placed at such place where there is lot of heat and engine oil gets mixed with coolant. This is known issue to tata motors, still they never informed/educated/replaced the product.

Hi. I hope you are doing well. If your Tata Nexon has suffered an oil cooler failure at just 47,000 km and you believe it is a known manufacturing or design defect, you may have a valid claim for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, especially if the defect is inherent and not due to wear and tear or misuse; you should first issue a written complaint to the manufacturer and authorized service centre seeking repair/replacement free of cost or reimbursement, and if they fail to respond satisfactorily, you can file a complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission seeking compensation for repair costs, mental agony and consequential losses, and if there is evidence that the defect was known but not disclosed, that strengthens your case; preserve service records, expert opinion (if possible), job cards and correspondence to substantiate your claim.
