To secure admission in a Kannada linguistic minority college, it is essential to establish that you belong to the Kannada-speaking community, especially if Kannada is not mentioned in your School Leaving Certificate (L.C.). Since you are born into a Kannada-speaking family in Solapur—a region with a strong Kannada presence—you can still qualify under the linguistic minority category through alternate legal documentation. First, check if the college accepts a notarized affidavit and a certificate from a recognized Kannada association in place of Kannada being mentioned in the L.C. If so, you can submit an affidavit declaring Kannada as your mother tongue and obtain a certificate from a Kannada Sangha or cultural body.
