Writ Petition on Madras HC regarding application deadline for NET exam

08-Nov-2025 (In Civil Law)
I was deprived of applying for CSIR NET Dec 2025 due to NTA’s silent shift from csirnet.nta.ac.in to csirnet.nta.nic.in without notice or redirect. The old domain remained active. I discovered the change only after deadline. I relied on old website in good faith. No websites - nta.[ac/nic].in,, www.nic.in have any notification of the change Can I urgently move Madras HC with virtual hearing for relief before exam to appear in it, which is scheduled to be on December 18? NTA response is useless

Yes, you can urgently approach the Madras High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution by filing a writ petition seeking a direction to NTA to accept your application and allow you to write the CSIR-NET exam, especially since the change of domain without proper notice or redirection amounts to procedural unfairness and violates the principle of legitimate expectation. Courts have previously granted relief in similar cases where technical or administrative lapses of an authority prevented a candidate from applying on time, provided the candidate acted in good faith. You must file the writ immediately with an interim prayer for urgent listing and virtual hearing before December 18, showing evidence that the old website was still active and no notification was issued. Relief is discretionary, not automatic, but the court can permit provisional registration or direct NTA to open a special window if injustice is proven. Act fast, because delay weakens your case.

Hi, As discussed, since the CSIR-NET application portal has changed and you were unable to submit your form on time, we can approach the Hon’ble Madras High Court seeking permission for you to participate in the CSIR-NET December 2025 exam. We will file a writ petition requesting the Court to direct the authorities to accept your application or allow you to take the exam based on the circumstances. If you want to proceed, please share all relevant details and documents so I can prepare the draft. Regards Advocate Yogesh Madras Highcourt
