Whatever happened with us, it was wrong or right.

My girlfriend and I were kissing at the railway station when two police officers arrived, demanded a fine, and even took our photo of andhar card. I just want to know, that was the wrong what we did?
Based on the facts you've shared, merely kissing your girlfriend at a railway station is not, by itself, a criminal offence under Indian law. However, if the conduct was considered obscene or caused annoyance to the public, the police may invoke provisions such as Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (obscene acts in a public place), depending on the circumstances.
If the police only warned you or imposed an official fine under a valid legal provision, that is different from demanding money without issuing any receipt. If they took photographs of your Aadhaar card, you are entitled to ask why your identity was being recorded and under which legal authority.
To advise you properly, please let me know:
Which railway station and city did this happen in?
Did the police issue any challan, receipt, or written notice?
How much money, if any, did they demand or collect?
Were you taken to the police station or only questioned at the spot?
Whether the police acted lawfully depends on these facts. If no official receipt was issued and money was demanded informally, that may raise legal concerns.
