What is the compensation amount for a road accident case under the MVOP? Could you also explain the

25-Jul-2024 (In Civil Law)
In a road accident case under MVOP (Motor Vehicles Act), the judgment was made, and half of the compensation was paid to the dependents, while the other half was fixed deposited in the bank for 2 years by the court. Now that the 2-year maturity period has ended, my lawyer is not responding to file the petition for the remaining half of the compensation amount that is fixed deposited in the bank as per the court judgment.

Can we change the lawyer and file the petition for the remaining compensation amount? Also, could you provide details on the MVOP full form, its meaning in court, and the MVOP Act?

Yes, you can change your advocate by filing a No-Objection Vakalatnama. Since the compensation amount has already been fixed and deposited in the bank under court orders, you can file a claim petition in the concerned court to release the compensation amount in your name.

As for your query regarding the MVOP full form, it stands for Motor Vehicles Original Petition.
  1. The full form of MVOP in court refers to the Motor Vehicles Original Petition, which is filed for compensation in motor accident cases.
  2. The MVOP case's full form is the same as the Motor Vehicles Original Petition case, which is related to claims under the Motor Vehicles Act.
  3. MVOP meaning: It refers to legal proceedings initiated by accident victims or their legal heirs to seek compensation for damages, injury, or death resulting from a motor vehicle accident.
