That’s an excellent and important question — and the answer depends on which institution the student is studying in (government, private, aided, etc.) and the type and percentage of disability. Under the central law - Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Persons with benchmark disabilities (≥40%) are entitled to specific educational concessions and fee relaxations. Whereas, most state governments have full or partial fee exemption for students with benchmark disability (40% or more).
