Seeking Legal Aid/Assistance against University

24-May-2025 (In Civil Law)
I took admission in IGNOU in 2019. After lockdown, they said marks would be given without exams/practicals—but it’s 2025 and I’ve received nothing. Assignment marks from 1st and 2nd year are still pending. They now ask me to resubmit and travel to another city for practicals, making a joke of "distance learning." After 6 years of emails, visits, and being mocked for failing to finish a basic degree, I spiraled into depression. I'm now seeking a lawyer to fight IGNOU legally.

You may have a valid case against IGNOU for administrative negligence and mental harassment. If your academic progress has been delayed due to their failure to update assignment/practical marks or fulfill their commitments during lockdown, you can send a legal notice and, if needed, file a writ petition in the High Court under Article 226 for violation of your right to education and fair treatment. Collect all emails, communications, and records of assignments submitted as evidence. Consulting an education law specialist or civil lawyer is highly recommended.
