Risky Pruning of old tall trees

04-May-2023 (In Civil Law)
I live in a building society with 14 flats in Richmond Town. One owner complained about branches falling from a very old tree into his garden. He got permission from tree officer to prune tree. Tree fellers then started to prune tree only on one side. That was stopped. Owner plans to continue. I am concerned about destabilisation of 30 m high tree in case of heavy monsoon rains. No public notice was issued. How can I stop the risky tree pruning from happening when I am out of town.

To cut trees, you must seek the permission from the local municipality or corporation. Visit the relevant office and submit a written application. You must provide the proper justification. Understand that the permission could be refused. Tree cutting permission is granted only if it is possibly a danger to human life or building, or dead/rotting, causing health hazard of any kind, etc
