Neighbour’s dogs barking all night

My neighbour has two dogs who are constantly kept outside and they bark late at night almost every night causing disturbances. I’ve tried speaking to them regarding this but they make changes for a few days and it goes back to square one. After a heated discussion with them when they came to know I reached out to animal welfare organisations because they weren’t treating their pets well, the neighbours kept them inside for awhile and now they’re back to being out all day. What can I do now?

If the barking of your neighbour's dogs is causing regular disturbance, particularly during late-night hours, you may first maintain a record of the incidents, including dates, timings, and, if possible, audio/video evidence. You may then submit a written complaint to the local municipal authorities, Residents' Welfare Association (if any), or the local police station regarding the nuisance. If there are concerns about animal neglect or cruelty, a complaint may also be lodged with the competent animal welfare authorities. Repeated and unreasonable disturbance can amount to a private nuisance, for which legal remedies may be available. It is advisable to proceed through proper legal channels and avoid direct confrontation with the neighbours.
