need to return the money for the job but need some time to return

I received cash for a particular job but it never happened but now need to give the cash back to them but need some time and also I gave my cheque now they are asking double the money they have given what I can do even if I gave the actual amount i have taken they are not agreeing.i stared returning money also to them but until i gave them double the amount they are not ready to give the cheque back. but i can give only what i actually took other than that i cant give more.

you can ask for a cheque return, at the same time you can give money for them. if there is possible to file cheque case against you before the court of law it can be settled before the court of law by saying that it was only paid such amount.... if any queries contact me or visit my office
