I am in a situation where my ex is constantly blackmailing me to tell my parents. I told his sister about it then she told her father. But even after that he is trying to meet me in my clg to talk about it to the teacher. And asking me to call my mother, he is also asking me to delete his chats in which he has blackmailed me. It's advisable for you to first of all rather than going legally you should serve them a legal notice and in that notice you can write either stop all these harassment or face legal action which will be at your own risk. After that if they fails to give you a satisfactory reply then you can anytime send a complaint regarding your grievances in writing to the police station according to your jurisdiction.

Firstly, don't delete the chat. keep all the records of blackmailing. As to legal action: You can file a complaint for Stalking, extortion, criminal intimidation . If he blackmails you using private chats/pictures/videos we can definitely file a FIR against him and have him spend months behind the bars. However, It's advisable to provide more details to assist you better with your issue.

I understand you’re going through a very emotionally stressful situation, and it’s not easy to deal with such mental harassment especially when it comes from someone you once trusted. But let me be very clear, blackmail of any kind is not just wrong, it's illegal. You are not obligated to stay silent or give in to this pressure. At this stage, the most important thing is to preserve all proof, do not delete any chats or messages, no matter what he says. These messages could be your strongest defence if things go further. And please, avoid meeting him alone or giving him any more chances to manipulate you emotionally. Let me just say that you do have options, and strong ones. You don’t have to go through this alone, there are legal steps to make sure this stops and your safety is ensured. You’ve already taken a brave step by asking this question. Now it’s time to take the next one. Feel free to contact me directly through this platform so I can help you further in a more confidential and effective manner.
