Legal Opinion on Withholding of Exam Results for Alleged Malpractice

12-Feb-2026 (In Civil Law)
Needed advice regarding a relative whose exam result was withheld a month after declaration for allegedly writing a brief request for marks on his answer sheet. He had passed above the minimum marks, and the college rules do not clearly state that such conduct amounts to malpractice. He had done this earlier without warning. Can this action be legally challenged, and what remedies are available?

Yes, the university's action can be legally challenged if it is found to be arbitrary or if due process was not followed. Withholding a student's results after a month without clear institutional rules defining such conduct as malpractice can be contested as a violation of the Principles of Natural Justice.
