To correct a wrong survey number in a property registration document in India, a Rectification Deed must be executed and registered. This legal document acknowledges and corrects the error in the original sale deed, specifically regarding the incorrect survey number. The Rectification Deed must be signed by all parties involved in the original transaction, typically the buyer and the seller, and must be registered at the same sub-registrar's office where the original document was recorded. If the seller is unavailable or unwilling to cooperate, the buyer may need to initiate legal proceedings to correct the error, which can involve obtaining a court order and submitting the corrected details to the relevant authorities for the issuance of an accurate patta or property title.

Dear, The wrong entry of the survey no in the Sale Deed can be rectified by you and the developer jointly by executing a supplementary document called Rectification Deed. A Rectification Deed is a document executed between parties to correct mistakes. In case the Sale Deed is registered, the Rectification Deed should also be registered. The requisite stamp duty and registration charges towards the Rectification Deed should be paid as per the laws in force in the state. Visit the concerned sub registrars office along with the developer and register the rectification deed after paying the requisite stamp duty and registration charges.
