How to draft rent agreement for married tenant
18-Jun-2025 (In Civil Law)
My question is that if I want to rent out my property to a married couple having a small baby so how should I draft rent agreement and should I mention everyone name in the rent agreement ??
Is it ok if I draft rent agreement only on the name of husband only or wife name is also mandatory ??
Rent agreements are to be drafted by your lawyer, it states crucial terms and conditions which a tenant has to follow. It doesn’t matter if the tenant is a married man or not, conditions would be same for everyone. Also the agreement has to be in the name of either the husband or his wife so you can ask them who wants to be on the agreement.
You can draft the rent agreement in the name of either the husband or the wife — it is not mandatory to include both. However, including both names as co-tenants adds legal clarity and shared responsibility. The baby’s name need not be mentioned. Ensure that valid ID proof and signatures of all tenants included are taken. Also, mention terms clearly regarding rent, duration, and maintenance. We can assist you in matter
