How to claim a refund of e-court fee

09-Oct-2025 (In Civil Law)
I filed a civil case and paid e-court fee to South-East Saket court via e-portal, but my case wasn't registered because it didn't fall under court's territorial jurisdiction i.e. I should have filed the case in Patiala House court. How can I claim a refund online?

Yes you may take refund of e filling of application fee. In your circumstances you may file application in Saket court for refund of court fee through counsel. provided the court returns the plaint for presentation in the proper court under Order 7 Rule 10 of the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC). In case of Lack of Jurisdiction: If a court finds it lacks territorial, pecuniary, or subject matter jurisdiction, it can return the plaint to the plaintiff to be filed in the correct cour I am practising in Saket court. You may connect for the same.

You need to file an application before the concerned court to refund the court fees. After that the court will order to release the payment in the account from which the court fees was originally paid. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

You can apply for a refund of the e-court fee through the Delhi District Court ePay portal. Log in using your credentials and select the “Refund Request” option. Attach a copy of the payment receipt and a letter stating that the case wasn’t registered due to territorial jurisdiction. The refund will be processed after approval by the concerned court’s accounts branch. You can also visit the South-East District (Saket) Accounts Section with a written application if you face issues online.

You need to file a simple refund application before the Administrative/Refund Branch of South-East District Court, Saket, enclosing: (i) the e-court fee receipt, and (ii) the return/rejection memo showing “wrong jurisdiction.” After approval, the refund is processed through the Treasury and credited online to your original mode of payment. You may visit the Filing/Record Room at Saket to submit the application and they will guide you on the exact format. you can seek my help
