27-Jul-2025 (In Civil Law)
Need suggestion for cctv. As default there is no cctv cameras in the apartment, when I purchased flat found there is no cctv cameras, so I installed cctv cameras to my flat and my parking, as per the cctv act not covering neighbor privacy. Now the apartment people forcing me pay for cctv cameras. As I denied because I have installed my own. How to deal this situation

If the Apartment Association is installing common CCTV for shared security, they can ask all the owners to share the cost. But you cannot be forced to pay again just because you already installed private cameras limited to your flat and parking. Politely give them a written reply explaining your private cameras cover only your area and don't replace or effect common area security. If they insist you can refuse in writing and if needed approach the local Registrar of societies are Consumer forum for relief.
