Film's unfair business practices

07-Jun-2025 (In Civil Law)
I wish to file a PIL regarding the recent trend where big film production houses release multiple versions of the same movie (e.g., Housefull 5A and 5B with alternate endings) simultaneously in theatres. This practice occupies more screens than necessary, leaving little room for small-budget and regional films, which I believe is an unfair trade practice and harms diversity in cinema. Can a PIL be filed in Bombay HC?

Yes, Why not, a PIL can be filed, if being an Unfair Trade Practice, it harms diversity in Cinema, if it is severly impacting the opportunity for Regional films to screen their movies across theatres, considering, Big Production Houses adopt monopolistic practices and book theatres screens in advance!
