hi if the authorities are not changing the name in records despite issuing gazette notification then you could approach court for seeking relief in the matter by filing petition and to issue necessary directions

Legal Remedies and Procedure: Step 1: Submit Application to Registrar of Births Attach the following: Application for correction in birth certificate Gazette notification of your name change Affidavit regarding name change (notarized) ID proof showing new name Copy of your daughter's birth certificate Supporting documents like Aadhaar, PAN (if updated) Step 2: Approach Higher Authority / File RTI If municipal authorities refuse: File an RTI asking the reason and rule under which name change based on Gazette is not accepted. Escalate the matter to District Registrar/Chief Registrar of Births. Step 3: Writ Petition in High Court If authorities still deny, you can file a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution before the High Court, seeking a direction to update the birth certificate based on the Gazette name. Courts have previously ruled in favor of name changes when Gazette and valid ID proofs were provided.
