Do schools have a right to not promote a child

30-Sep-2023 (In Civil Law)
My son is studying 2nd standard in an ICSE school. Because of my father's sudden demise and the rituals that have to be done after I haven't sent my son to the school for writing Quarterly exams because My father died in my hometown which is around 350 km from school and rituals have to be done there it self. I explained the situation to the school admin and they are saying he can't be promoted if he doesn't write Quarterly exams. Does school have a right to do that?

kindly speak to your school principal why they will depromote your kid if he not write quarterly exams and you have valid reason that your father is paases away so he didn't write quarterly exams ...do they have an y guidelines or any rules in school books... approach to any advocate he will help you by sending legal notice to school
