Compensation for delay in work by contractor in MES

Good evening,
My contract was divided into different phases which had to be executed, My contract started in February 2022(had to be completed in 250 days) I have not yet been able to complete phase 1 and my extension ended on 31st july 2023( I will be able to complete it in 2 months). I was forced to start phase 2 as i was not being paid until and unless I start thus I did even though in my contract it was mentioned that i have to start phase 2 after completion of phase 1. Now I have received

you can claim the compensation for the woro done, though it all depends on the kind of contract being drafted. if you agreement specifically state about the time period then you might have to contest in a proper manner.
