Civil Land Owner Asking to leave us from the land

I am doing farming in a land for over 40 years and land owner was not there for all the days. Now from nowhere he is coming and asking me to leave the land to sell the property. How can I hold the land in my name.

The law of adverse possession applies when the party in actual possession of the property in hostile against the title of the true owner openly, continously, publicly for a period of 12 years in case of private person and 30 years in case of Govt. Provided in case of private person subject to the minority, unsoundness , armed person it is not applicable.
