In Odisha , carrying Upto 12 Beer Bottles upto 9 liters of Beer for personal use is perfectly legal , as per Excise laws , and needs no passes etc. But the Berrs must be purchased from a legal Off Shop , and you may have to show valid receipts for the same. but yes, the Police have enough power to call anyone to police Station , with the reason for cross checking of any illegal activities connected to such stuffs. but if you have got valid receipts from a authorised shop , sealed bottles , and Notvdriving under influence of sny liquor etc, the Police can not detain you , or seize the Beers.

Based on the facts stated, merely carrying 6 beer cans of 500 ml each (total 3 litres) for personal consumption is not by itself sufficient to say that an offence was committed. Under the Odisha Excise Act, possession and transport of liquor are regulated, and the legality depends on factors such as whether the beer was lawfully purchased, the applicable quantity limit, the place from which it was purchased/carried, and whether any dry-day or special prohibition was in force. The Odisha Excise Rules prescribe a 5 bulk litre threshold for beer in certain transport situations, so 3 litres is below that quantity. If the beer was purchased from an authorised shop and you have the bill, you should preserve it. Please obtain the FIR/seizure memo or station diary details and the exact section under which police have proceeded against you, as that will determine whether the police action was legally justified and what remedy is available.
