Box Grill in the Paghdi System Residence room is illegal as per BMC.

As mentioned above the box grill is within the BMC record area, but BMC demands for the area as per 1962 & 1964 records which is not possible. What can be done ? Is this legal to demand the records of the years 1962 & 1964.

Check your building plan, occupancy certificate (OC), approval drawings See whether the box grill / loft was part of the approved plan or not. 2. Check whether the grill is openable If it's fixed (non-openable), BMC/fire department may insist on removing or modifying it to meet norms. 3. See your society / landlord / chawl documentation Sometimes the building / society may have internal by-laws or may have accepted things over time. But those don't supersede municipal law. 4. Engage a structural / fire safety / architect professional They can evaluate whether the alteration violates structural fety, fire escape norms, etc.
