Bathroom Leakage harassment by housing society
11-Apr-2025 (In Civil Law)
My housing society has been accusing me of causing a leakage to the below flat from my bathroom. I have not allowed them to inspect my flat as I was certain their intention was to attribute false blame and I feared intentional sabotage. Today, I have received a letter allegedly from the BMC. However, it does not have the BMC logo.
1) How can I protect my self from further harassment and false blame?
2) How can I protect my flat/ bathroom from sabotage?
You can contact the BMC directly via their official helpline or local ward office. Ask if they sent any notice or letter to you if the letter is fake it could be considered forgery and harassment which gives you grounds for a legal complaint. Speak to a property lawyer if the society continuous harassing you or sends fake documents, you may be able to send them a legal notice to cease harassment. consider hiring your own certified plumber to inspect and give a report that there is no leakage from your flat. This report can legally protect you if society escalate the matter.
