About my scholarship upholding by Govt?

04-Nov-2025 (In Civil Law)
I'm a boy EWS student. I'm currently studying in 1st year MBBS in BKL WALAVALKAR medical college, ratnagiri, maharashtra. As per govt's GR and as I'm an EWS candidate, i have to pay about 8 lakh per annum as fees. But there is a problem. On EWS certificate, my caste written is "Lingayat" which is NOT a reserved category in Maharashtra. So my quest

The legally correct and practical approach is to first obtain a caste verification and rectification certificate from the Tehsildar or Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue Department) of your home district. You must declare in writing that you neither possess nor claim any valid SBC caste certificate, and that the entry of “Koshti” in your school record was inadvertent or made without your or your parents’ formal caste validation. Submit a self-declaration affidavit stating that you belong to the Lingayat community (non-reserved) and have never availed benefits of any reserved category. Along with this, attach your EWS certificate, income certificate, school leaving certificate, domicile, Aadhar, and college admission proof. The officer may issue a correction endorsement or caste rectification letter to regularize your records. Once that rectification is done, you can submit it to your college’s scholarship cell and the District Caste Verification Committee (CVC) with a representation requesting release of your EWS scholarship under the correct non-reserved category

This is a High Court matter (Original Side). You immediately contact a lawyer along with all your documents and the Government Resolution (G.R.) concerned If there’s an urgency you can file a praecipe for mentioning the matter
