Aadhar DOB correction in cross limit

01-Jul-2025 (In Civil Law)
My Aadhaar DOB update limit is exhausted. I corrected it earlier using a birth certificate, which I lost, and no record exists in Nagar Nigam or block office. UIDAI requires a cancellation slip I cannot provide. I got a new birth certificate, but UIDAI demands an SDM order. The SDM in UP said he cannot issue an order since a correct birth certificate already exists and no order was required when it was issued. What legal remedy or exceptions exist?

Since your Aadhaar DOB update limit is exhausted and your earlier birth certificate is lost, you should prepare a notarized affidavit explaining the loss and validating your correct DOB. Attach this affidavit with your new birth certificate and supporting documents like a school certificate, PAN card, or passport. Submit a written application to the UIDAI Regional Office requesting a DOB update based on these genuine documents. If no response is received, file an online grievance on UIDAI portal or an RTI asking for action. As a final legal remedy, you can approach the High Court under Article 226 through a writ petition. The court can direct UIDAI to allow the update since your case is genuine and the refusal is due to a technical/documentation issue. Courts have intervened in similar cases when valid evidence was available.
