Cheque bounced even after filling NC

one job consultant promised for work permit in abroad and they took money of 3.5 lakhs one year back and after asking proof and complained in police station they promised to return the money and gave a post dated cheque but it got bounced due to insufficient funds. When contacted the consultancy they are telling that they already went to prison for 6 months in Bangalore for a similar case (A1 accused) and they are ready to go to prison again for cheque bounce in Bangalore and they are telling that they don’t have any asset or jewels to pledge or recover by court. when asked one of the employee in that consultancy they are planning to get bankruptcy order from court Kindly advise me how to proceed further.
