What to do if wrong CIBIL report has been filed against me

03-Feb-2023 (In Banking / Finance Law)
CIBIL published my wrong report with mentioning bank dues on me while I never been engaged with those bank accounts. I requested them to provide me proof like my signed document etc. But even after continuous follow-ups since last 4 months, they are neither ready to correct my CIBIL report nor ready to prove their statement. Always says that we are waiting for reply from concerned bank institution. Results I had to go for a home loan with higher interest rate. Now firat I need to get corrected my CIBIL report and second I would go to claim a compensation for trouble due to them.

You can send a complaint to the Banking Ombudsman and higher authority of the said Bank.

Although Granting of loan is the own discretion of Bank yet RBI has set some guidelines which lays down that The bank which has declined your loan application is under obligation to supply you the reason for declining in writing. This bank has to supply you certified copy of your loan application also. If the BM denies you may remind him that you can approach RBI. Submit a letter with your demand and obtain acknowledgment. You can issue a notice/legal notice. From this bank has you shall come to know the details of the bank which has declared you a defaulter.

You can report the matter to Nodal officer with soft copy of the credit report of the bank by email and demand reply.

You can sue the offender bank Consumer Forum but you shall need credit report from CIBIL in which you are declared defaulter.

If the report is wrong and concern bank not providing any statement then you can file claim against such bank. It is your harassment by bank athourity and they are fully responsible for such illegal act.
