Stopped paying EMI bank threatening to attach my salary

I had taken a personal loan from barclays bank in 2007 for a tenure of 60 months. I paid only 20 installments and then stopped it. Now the account has been transferred to Kotak Mahindra Bank and they are threatning that they will take a garnishee order and attach my salary. What should i do now.

They cannot straight away take a garnishee order, only after filing the case on contest if they succeed they can take a garnishee order. Meanwhile u can send a Advocate notice stating that they can proceed with the case legally.
