Received a message saying savings Account being held what to do
19-Mar-2023 (In Banking / Finance Law)
I don't have any credit card or any loan from sbi. I have received a message saying that my account is on hold for Rs 450000. I am in shock right now. SBI customer support didn't help me. I don't know what to do. Please help. I have a personal loan in ICICI bank but the remaining due is 80000. I have paid the EMI as well. I don't have any credit cards at all.

In Banking industry, There are various issues are happening like this across india .
I need to understand the nature of your savings account. But SBI do not have right to hold your money unless they intimate you at least 30 days earlier even though you have unpaid loan/credit card with them.
Listen, There is process CIBIL / CRISIL / SATYAM Defaulter / RBI / Income Tax ... etc., databases all sync wrt. customer information. Sync means by PAN Card / Adhar ID / Driving Incense / Passport ... etc., . Any Banking transactions(any of the bank) either Savings account / any kind of loan(including loan taken by your parents/to any customer you provided guarantee for loan /partner with company ... etc.,) not settled with full outstanding all these things will be captured.
First of all, visit the branch and get the information about your account. If the branch official does not response then write to RBI and you may issue legal notice branch manager asking for clarification.
Seems, it is big process to sort out the issue. But if you move technically then it can be resolved as soon as possible.
