Online Transaction For Joint Account Holder If One Person Deceased

13-Jun-2024 (In Banking / Finance Law)
My father has died suddenly 3 days back. He was joint account holder with my mother . Primary account holder father, secondary holder mother. Both can take money by signing cheque independently. Due to urgency after death she transferred some money in online banking to registered nominee in account as death certificate taking time to come. Is there any issue guide with proper legal solution if required. Bank sbi

The other legal heirs may object about transferring of funds in the name of a nominee by your mother after the death of her husband, a joint account holder. After death of one of the joint account holder the other joint account holder should submit consent letter from other legal heirs for continuation of operation of the account by existing account holder. Alternatively they may add the names of the other legal heirs.
