August 21, 2017

Thousands of aggrieved home buyers of Amrapali Group on Saturday held a candlelight march in Noida demanding the authorities to take strict action against the builder who has repeatedly failed to deliver their homes years after the promised deadline.

These aggrieved home buyers of Amrapali project also performed “ garh prapti yajna” (a ritual to own a house) outside the corporate office of the group in sector 62 Noida. The homebuyers have been sitting on hunger strike and pleading the directors of the group to clear the situation and deliver the possession of their flats.

In 2009 Amrapali Group has launched Amrapali Dream Valley project with a total of 47 towers in Sector Tech Zone- 4. The builder has completed only 40% of the construction work, of the 12,000 dwelling units around 8000 flats have already been sold.

The troubled home buyers claim that they have already paid 80 % of the cost of the flat, however, the builder has not yet completed 60% of the construction work.

Buyers also decided to hold a candlelight march in Film City because most of the leading media houses are located there.
