Who is an advocate as per the bar council of india?

One of my friend has got his law degree but he hasn't registered/enrolled himself as a lawyer with Bar Council of Mumbai or anywhere else in India, will the provisions of Advocates act and rules under Bar Council of India have any implication on him ?? Is he an advocate ? if yes then how ?
Unless your friend enrolls under Bar council, he can not practice in any court.
However he is a lawyer and can apply in any of the company or corporate law firm, where registration is not required.
