Since there is no written proof or agreement for the loan, recovery through legal action becomes very difficult. Courts generally require documentary evidence (loan agreement, promissory note, cheque, transfer records, etc.). If you only gave cash without proof, pursuing interest recovery is not legally feasible. However, you may still issue a legal notice demanding repayment of the principal amount and, if she denies, file a civil recovery suit. Criminal action may also be explored under cheating or breach of trust, but success will depend on available evidence. For future, always ensure transactions are documented in writing or through bank transfer to protect your rights.
