Send a Legal Notice State the amount of the deposit. Explain why it became refundable. Demand repayment within a specified period (commonly 15–30 days). Mention that failure to pay will result in a civil recovery suit, along with interest and costs. File a Civil Recovery Suit If the deposit is still not refunded after the notice period, file a suit for recovery of money before the appropriate civil court having jurisdiction. You can claim: The principal deposit amount. Interest (if agreed in the contract or otherwise as permitted by law). Litigation costs.
