Carpenter refusing to do work after taking advance money

i gave a Carpenter Rs 3500 advance to do some chair repairing work. But he done half work and now he is not willing to do full work and refusing to pay the advance money he taken. Also he take a mixer grinder( approx.Rs 2000) from my shop and also not paying the money. he is not took the bill. now what can i do now to recover my money.
