Who will responsible to pay that OLD carpet bill for Bhavnagar BMC

Respected sir,
OLD house owner has sold his house (Bhavnagar) on 3-4-2024, on sold date all municipal corporation bill was clear till 31-3-2024, Now, after 2year on date 31-5-2025 .. Old-year's old carpet bill generate by Municipal corporation. Who will responsible to pay that OLD carpet bill for municipal corporation different amount?
New-owner presser on OLD-Owner to pay OLD carpet bill different amount.....
Who is liable for this?

Usually such liabilities are specifically divided through inclusion of a clause in the Sale Deed. Any liability arising before the date of execution and registration of Sale Deed would be of the previous owner and any liability arising for the time period after the date of execution and registration of Sale Deed would be of the current owner. You may make a representation to the municipal corporation in this regard along with the receipts showing clearance of liabilities. If the demand persists by the municipal corporation, a writ petition before the Hon’ble Gujarat High Court can be filed in this regard.
