In bangalore, from when did the rule of obtaining OC & CC made mandatory? I read somewhere it came in 2010. Is it so? If so when was it made mandatory? To which kind of buildings it's applicable?
A. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Section 310 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, 1976 speaks about Completion Certificate and Occupancy Certificate is mandatory before the occupy the any premises where the building height is more than Ground plus one floor. Hence, since 1976 there a mandatory rule towards OC and CC requirement from the Local planning or Development Authority. People have been recognizing the same by virtue of real estate development in cities. Moreover, Still people not giving much importance towards OC AND CC in district level i.e, Mysore, Mangalore and Udupi etc., but people have bounden duty to verify the same are meticulously.
B. In BMRDA/STRR/Anekal Planning Authority and other local planning authority Jurisdictions, issue of Occupancy Certificate is very bleak. However, they may be issued Endorsement with respect to the same as these authorities is calling as Nodal Agency. However, they may issue Completion Certificate.
