What share does a daughter have in fathers property

05-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)
I am living in delhi and my parents in Rajkot, Gujarat. My Parents are both alive and so are my Two brothers. My father transferred his property to my Younger brother and gave a share of 13 Lakhs to my Elder brother for purchasing a 2 BHK Flat in Rajkot. When asked, was told that his property is valued at Market Value of 24 Lacs and hence by that dividing it between his Two sons, except Daughter. I was given only Rs.65000/- as my husband was ill and now being told that I am eligible to get only that much share. My question "Should I not get equal share as my brother?" If yes, How soon Can I get it by going to law?

In a ruling that will restrict the right of women seeking equal share in ancestral property, the Supreme Court has said that the 2005 amendment in Hindu law will not give property rights to a daughter if the father died before the amendment came into force.

No, you can not claim property owned by your father which in consideration paid by your father.
You can claim only on those property which is ancestral property, otherwise you do not have any right on your father property.
