Some of my close friend received a property from her husband six months ago and now she wants to hand over the property to me as a gift. I want to know about the legal issues for this property transfer and which documents needed for this and how much time needed for this transfer.how much overall cost to be paid?

ur question is very much misleading/incomplete in the sense that u have stated that "some" of my close friend ( is it one or more than one friend??). if the wife receives any property (immovable property) by registered deed, she can transfer to anyone. since she is ur friend, stamp duty & registration fee (as u r not her family member) 6% + 1.1% (7% + 1.1% if value of prop is over 25l) would be required Plus charges & expenses and advocate fees of drafting and doing all procedure.
Time needed will be about 2/3 working days depending upon the providing details

your question need more details - by what way your friend received the property ( sale deed, gift, etc) .
what were the terms and condition etc.

Assuming that your friend has received perfect title of the property, in that case she can transfer the property by way of gift to you.

it does not take much time.

Gift Deed is required to be property stamp and registered and executed.
