Want to purchase a land with home, land lord is Schedule Tribe

I want to purchase a land in Kolkata, West Bengal, This property is recorder as "Bastu" in mutation. Land lord Smt D. Mahato purchased the property from Mr. P. Gahwami (probably he belonged higher cast) in 2008. Now current owner D. Mahato want to sell the property.
The current land owner belongs under SCHEDULE TRIBE. Can I purchase this property? I belong in GENERAL cast.
Is there any restriction related to ST special act?
It will be very helpful if you give me a suggestion .
no there is no such kind of provision for buying the property related to caste system if both the parties agree then you can go ahead and complete the transactions and do the searching before it. speak with the vendor about the agreement for sale and uen go ahead.
