Transfer my share in property to mothers name by Relinquishment deed

Son and Mother of a Hindu Family jointly purchased a flat measuring 50 sq yard in Vaishali Ghaziabad, First name owner Son is a corporate employee and mother has been shown as co-owner is house wife (filing income tax return). Son wants to sacrifice his share in the name of monther. What is cost effective way of transferring share ? Wheteher RELIQUISHMENT DEED will work ? If so what will be expenditure towards stamjp duty etc. ?. .

The stamp duty in case of property transfer by way of sale or gift deed is the same—4% for men and 6% for women. In case of a gift deed, the rate is the same if the property is being gifted to a non-family member. If recipient is a family member, then only 0.5% of the market value of the property has to be paid as stamp duty.

you and the family member can also relinquish your rights.
