Threat from wife and Inlaws for my and my sisters joint property

13-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
Dear Experts. I would like to bring to your attention a Grave issue which I am facing due to Joint Property. I have a Joint house in with Three names, my father, myself and my wife purchase of house fully financed by my father and myself and my wife's contribution is zero. My Father has already one more house with joint name with my sister. My father out of affection also put my wife's name so as to ensure easy transition of in inheritance upon his or my death. Now my wife and my in-laws are showing their true colors and want to remove my fathers and my name from joint property so that she can have the entire house in her name. I have refused the same and they have warned us with dire consequences failure to do so.. They have threaten to use their so called HIFI contacts and teach us an unforgettable lesson. My wife is from a Posh locality in Mumbai and we stay in central suburbs in Kalyan. How do prevent my inlaws creating further problems...

You can file a suit for injunction against your wife for not creating any trouble in your property. Secondly you can also pray for declaration regarding removing name of your wife from ownership over the property.

You don't need to worry. She can do nothing neither she can evict you nor your father. U can file a NC against her in the police station under relevant section . And again u can file a private complaint in the court

Dear Sir,
You need not worry about your wife's contacts and social status. Here two properties are in issue. One is jointly held by yourself, your father and wife and another is held by your sister and father. Irrespective of their contribution while purchasing the property ownership is important. How your wife's name inserted later in the property may reflect in the sale deed or other documents , share certificate etc need to see the documents. Documents verification and nature of ownership is very important. As on today you need to be prepared for her further action like false police cases etc.
